The MSR MiniWorks EX is a time-tested, best-selling pump-action water purifier system renowned for its reliability in demanding backcountry conditions and for international travel. Weighing approximately one pound, this compact system combines a durable pump and a field-maintainable filter, making it a classic choice for backpackers.

Two-Stage Filtration for Comprehensive Protection
This system is distinguished by its two-stage design. The core component is the Marathon™ EX ceramic/carbon element, which has a 0.2-micron pore size and physically removes 99.9999% of bacteria and 99.9% of protozoa, including Giardia and Cryptosporidium. The integrated carbon core also reduces unpleasant tastes, odors, chlorine, and pesticides. For protection against viruses, the system includes Aquatabs® purification tablets; when added to the filtered water, they inactivate viruses without the bad taste of iodine.

Efficient Pump and Field-Maintainable Design
The pump features an AirSpring Accumulator™, which provides a consistent flow rate of up to 1 liter per minute. The ceramic element has a lifespan of up to 2,000 liters and can be easily cleaned in the field without tools by abrading the surface with the included scrub pad to restore flow. The system's base screws directly onto wide-mouth Nalgene bottles or MSR Dromedary bags for convenient use and is made in the USA.
